The Copyright Page

This is to inform you that by downloading and viewing this document without the express written permission of the author you are infringing upon the copyright held by the author of this document.

By downloading this document into your computer's memory, in several places, and possibly storing its contents on your hard drive you have made illegal copies of this document. Additionally, in the event you are using a computer service, commonly referred to as a "proxy server", you have also created several illegal copies of this document on the said proxy server.

Your computer's IP address has been logged! You have the choice of paying for the copies of the document you have made or removing all copies of the document in your possession. If, within one week, you fail to pay for the document or to follow the remedial steps as specified below, your computer will be traced and you will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. In addition, under provisions of the DMCA, your internet service provider (ISP) will be prosecuted for enabling and allowing this infringement of copyright and for the possible storage of illegal copies of the document on a proxy server and its subsequent unauthorized distribution to third parties.

In any case, a notice of your illegal activities will be sent to your ISP.

Payment

Ideally, the amount to be paid would be calculated according to the number of times you downloaded the document from our web site, as logged by our web server. However, due to the dynamic nature of the interent and computers in general it is next to impossible to know, with certainty, how many illegal copies of the document you have made. To remedy this troubling situation we estimated the number of copies that are created on a typical download. Following is a list of the locations of these copies:

  1. Your computer's memory, in the following places: your web browser's internal storage of the document, the video buffer from which the document is being displayed on the screen.
  2. Your computer's hard drive, in the following places: your web browser's cache, your operating system's virtual memory page file, or partition.
  3. The proxy server or net cache used by your ISP, in the following places: the computer's memory, the operating system's virtual memory page file or partition.

In sum, a typical download creates 6 copies of the copyright document. The price per copy is $10, therefore the sum total due is $60. If you wish to save the document to file for later retrieval you must pay an additional $10 for the extra copy created and $10 for all later subsequent copies that will be created for viewing the stored document.
