Idea for a future realease

Just an idea - or even two:
1. trigger the shooting by noise detection
2. let app automatically send email with a taken picture to a predefined email-address

Thanks for the input. I'll definitely keep it in mind for future release of TimeLapse.

Can you also take a look at how the app works in sleep mode please. Does seem to work a bit randomly (if at all).
Thanks.

Neil,

Can you clarify what you mean? The app will generally not let the phone sleep when it is active. What behavior are you seeing?

I'm also having my phone go to sleep while the program is running, which was annoying.

Is it possible to not let the camera auto adjust the tone? I was shooting a sunset tonight and the shots were quite washed out, especially after the sun set.

Also is it possible to slow the shutter down? I'd like to take some streaky traffic photography.

Krisdafarr,

Can you provide the settings you had run TimeLapse with so I can try to reproduce the sleep problem?
I have no control over the camera's auto-adjust or shutter time.

Stop on detection of motion

Postby Guest » Fri Jan 23, 2009 10:03 am

Hi

How about your app stops recording and goes back the the iphones home screen if it detects motion - that way if you're surveilance recording they wont know :D

Two more ideas/suggestions:
- option to turn of "shutter sound" when the picture is taken
- option to specify the folder where the pictures are saved

Otherwise, thanks for this app!

I second adding the ability to turn off the shutter sound, or at least route it through the headphones if they're plugged in. I've wanted to use it at work and other quieter places, but I don't want to bother everyone near me with that sound.

You can set the phone to silent mode to disable the shutter sound.

What's silent mode? If you mean using the switch above the volume controls to turn the ringer on/off, that doesn't disable the shutter sound.

curious, I'm fairly certain it did on my phone. Did you upgrade to 2.2.1?

Yep I'm updated to the latest version. I also have a Japanese 3G iPhone, I wonder if that makes any difference... Even still, when my headphones are plugged in and I take a normal photo, the shutter sound doesn't play through the speaker at the bottom of the phone. :?

I think the Japanese phone model is the reason. For example:

The subtitle reads: "Japan and Korea Already Require That Camera Phones Click When Photo Is Taken"

I guess you can plug your earphones into the camera to silence it.

That works when taking a regular photo, but not with your app for some reason... oh well, it's a great app, I'll just have to use it in noisy places I guess!
