Keeping phone from Sleeping?

I bought TimeLapse and would love to make some long timelapse videos but the first time I tried using my iPhone 3G at 10 seconds. after about 6 minutes I checked the phone and it was dark and i had to take it back from sleeping and the program was closed. I tried again but it just closes after 5 minutes i think. I go to settings... General... Auto Lock is set to 5 minutes... which is the best i can have it do. How do I keep this from autolocking? Thanks in advance!

Wait is that the same problems is as what im talking about. I read their post and they seem pretty confused and the post seems to even confuse me. I mean it doesn't fail, just after a few minutes... it is closed and my screen is black, like any other app if i dont use it!

When the iPhone sleeps it normally doesn't close the app running. The problem in this case is that the app is closing and then the iPhone goes to sleep. That's why when you come back, the app is not running anymore.
